SRC & Senate: Attend Leadership Conference

June 10, 2021

Our Year 6 students, Primary SRC and Secondary Senate recently attended a student leadership training conference at Federation University. The students had the opportunity to experience a number of effective leadership roles during the day’s activities and found out how best to model good student leadership in their school.

The conference was run by GRIP Leadership, an independent organisation that exists to train and develop leaders with a special focus on school students and the educational sector. The GRIP Leadership programs are fresh, practical, interactive and enjoyed by tens of thousands of students each year.

The core values below represent the heartbeat of all GRIP Leadership staff and volunteers:

Generosity - Willingness to use what you have been given (time and resources) on behalf of those you seek to influence.

Responsibility - We all have a responsibility to develop what we have and help others to live well.

Integrity - A commitment to truth and honesty in dealings.

People - Every human being is of great significance and has a purpose to fulfill.

Involvement in SRC and Senate allows our student leaders to have the opportunity to develop skills in leadership and communication, as well as gaining an understanding of democratic processes by being actively involved in activities that engage the College community as a whole.
